Our Local Dental Committee

Pages dedicated to the individuals who contribute their time, expertise, and passion to represent and support the local dental community. The committee is comprised of a diverse group of dental professionals who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table.

**Chairperson**
The chairperson leads the committee, facilitates meetings, and is a spokesperson on behalf of the L a critical role in advocacy, strategy, and liaising with national dental organizations and health authorities.

**Vice-Chairperson**
The vice-chairperson supports the chairperson in their duties and takes on the leadership role in their absence, ensuring the smooth operation of the committee’s activities.

**Secretary**
The secretary is responsible for administrating the LDC’s meetings, including notice to the members, agenda setting, recording of minutes, and maintaining communication with members.

**Treasurer**
The treasurer manages the financial affairs of the committee, oversees the LDC’s budget, and provides financial reports to ensure transparency and accountability in the LDC’s transactions.

**Committee Members**
These dentists represent different sectors within the local dental community, such as general practice, hospital, community, and academic dentistry. Their role is to bring to the table a wide range of perspectives and concerns from the dental community.

**Elected Representatives**
These are dentists elected by their peers to represent local views at broader regional or national LDC conferences and in negotiations with the health authorities.

**Co-Opted Members**
Specialists or experts in certain areas of dentistry or related fields who have been invited to join the committee to provide additional insight and advice on specific matters.

**Sub-Committee Members**
Individuals who work on specific issues or projects, such as clinical governance, audit, and education. They may report to the larger committee or work somewhat autonomously.

**Administrative Staff**
Support staff who are vital in the day-to-day operation of the LDC, assisting with administration, communication with dental professionals, event organization, and various tasks as directed by the committee.
